Darrell"s Special was very delicious. Make sure you have many napkins.It is overstuffed with meat and veggies, truly delicious.

Trust me, you want to eat this! Darrell’s was recommended to us by another local business as being an iconic part of Lake Charles. Take the time to swing by. The service and food are great!!Oh, and do your self a favor and order the cheese bread. 🎉

The po boys are amazing, but a little on the pricey side. Certainly worth trying if price isn't an issue

Y'all. My cousin told us. We had to come here on the way back to Houston and we are all glad we did. The Darrell's special with Jalepeno mayo. OMG! It was so good I was licking my fingers. So. Good! Yes this pic doesn't have the gravy but trust me, you will want to smother it in gravy.

Whoever would rate it less than 5 stars has some form of mental disability.

Great little lunch restaurant. They have sandwiches and chips. And they're amazing! I had a sausage and shrimp sub that was delightful with the added barbecue sauce that was put on it. They were able to sell me a footlong and bring half of it in a bag to go. We showed up at 1230 on a Monday and did not have to wait for a table.

You should definitely stop in here for lunch. The poboys are amazing. Every time I travel through Lake Charles, we stop and buy several. My favorite the the Darrel's Special. My wife loves the Surf and Turf. Definitely get it dressed all the way, especially with the jalapeno mayo. Their special is so juicy that it will probably be running down your arms while eating it. The bread they use is freshly baked and extremely flaky/crispy. It's worth detouring from I-10 to stop at this place!!

Absolutely delicious. Will stop by again when in Lake Charles. We had the special and roast beef. My husband said it was the best sandwich (poboy) he has ever had and he is picky! So good!!! Make sure you have napkins because you will get messy. They also have a drive-thru option you just call ahead and they will have it ready for you when you arrive.

A limited menu with what sounds to to be a weird combination, but when combined really good food. The atmosphere was good. It did not have to go boxes. I would recommend if you are looking for a good po boy place. Also, very quick service.

First time eating here. Got the roast beef with jalapeno manayse.. omigod it is so good! Will definitely be back for more❤️

I give them 0 stars if I canecan horrible experience i drove 2 hours from New Orleans and get to Darrell's and they have signs posted no dine in drive thru only. So I'm okay with that. We waited in a long line just for them to tell us that you have to call in to place your order . They would not take our order in the drive thru. There is no sign that said call and place your order ahead of time then go to the drive thru to get your food .What of waste of time!!! so disappointed. Not worth it!

Stopped in due to all the great reviews. It was very messy but to eat and said you can’t eat this with one napkin so they weren’t kidding. It was good and it had just the right amount of kick so I enjoyed it. Not sure if my family would but I would stop in again. It was a bit pricy for what I got but it was worth the stop. It was more of a bar than a restaurant so it looked to be a good local hangout.

Best poboy I've ever ate, hands down! The bread is just as amazing as the meat.

Wow!! The girl working the desk at the local Hampton inn told me to come here and get the surf and turf sandwich. I feel like I owe her now. If you're in town and looking for a damn good sandwich I suggest giving this place a try. Lots of great beer on tap as well and a friendly staff!

Super good sandwiches! My shrimp po-boy was delicious and my husband and kids enjoyed their sandwiches as well. Even the grilled cheese was really good!

The best po boy you will ever eat...that was the recommendation I was given when told about this place. It was all that and then some. The homemade bread is perfect. I recommend the Darrell special with jalapeno mayo.

The food is amazing , but when I call to place a to-go order they never pick up. Takes too long to get the food as well.

I had Darrell’s (FINALLY) for the first time yesterday on March 11, 2020 and all I can say is WOW! I had the best poboy! I ordered the Surf & Turf with regular mayo and it was perfect. The bread was out of this world. The way the cheese lined the inside of the bread, the incredible flavor of the gravy and the perfect kick at the end of every bite was just phenomenal. I loved it so much in fact that I ordered the same thing today for lunch! Ordered a whole and will eat the rest tonight. 😋😋😋

By far the best sandwiches my family have ever had. My dad even considers making the 3 hour drive from Texas just to get one

Quite possibly the best Poboy I have ever eaten in my life. I got the surf and turf and it was phenomenal. The service was top notch as well. The bartender did a great job offering suggestions. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the Lake Charles area.

Good food, but it said that it closes at 11pm and they wreaking customers leave before 10:30pm!
